The following is a message by Caleb Bobrycki, the son of “The Princess”, one of my very best friends. As is evidenced by his own convictions through this writing, Caleb is a “Soul’d Out” seventeen-year-old Christian. His passion for the lost is lived out in his daily life. He currently holds meetings (with permission) at the public school he attends. Before his fellow students, Caleb speaks (teaches) weekly from the Word of God and is seeing many young people come to Christ. Please pray for Caleb as he boldly stands for Truth to reach the lost.

This message along with many other powerful messages are posted on Caleb’s facebook page. Please show your encouragement via comments on this post.

The Burden in Stride

I pity the “disciple” without burden.  Their pride may have my condolences, for I know what it’s like living a lifestyle without purpose and lacking the Spirit of God.  There comes a time when we become so infatuated with everything around us in our daily lives that we forget what it’s like to want to speak the gospel to anyone and everyone we meet, including the smallest cricket.  What happened to the manifestation of the Holy Spirit within us?  What happened to the

liveliness of being in Christ?  The burden in our stride must be a firsthand ambition to see the love of Jesus take place in lives around us.  Without burden there is no cost, no mission, and no point in being a Christian other than, “I’m going to Heaven!”

The stride of a disciple is the sum of a couple of things: our love for Jesus, and our love for people knowing Jesus.  The latter is the burden we carry!  If we could care less about other souls knowing the relentless adoration God has for us, then why are we a part of this Christianity thing?  Is this just some sort of club we joined, or does the death of His Son mean anything to us?  Our relationship with Jesus should be so filling and knock-out compelling that all we care about is that cashier that scanned our groceries yesterday knows Jesus as her lord and savior, or the father that you see every single day really understands the revolutionary love God has for him.  Maybe I’m wrong and you do care about mankind colliding with the love of their creator, however it isn’t your top priority; it isn’t your burden.

I could be speaking gibberish right now and you have a million other things to attend to, but before you leave, dear Christian (and I mean the one who calls them self a true blood Jesus lover) hear this: Jesus said, “Go” not “Take my salvation and be good now, ya hear?”  Jesus said, “Go.  Make disciples.”  Yearn for the opportune moments to have those conversations with the people you meet daily about the wonderful God you serve.  Do it because you can’t stand the thought of someone not understanding such a breathtaking Lord.  Dear Christian, your stride should not be centered around your atonement; it should be centered around the same goal Jesus had.  Let me say that again.  Your relationship with Christ isn’t just so you can be a better person or cleaner; your whole life needs burden!  Your every waking moment needs, “What about him? Her? Do they know Jesus?  Do they really know Jesus?”

Mission: Seek through prayer a love for people knowing Him.  “Give me eyes like Jesus.”

Result: A passion for people that burns so deep it becomes our burden.
