Happy 72nd Birthday, Daddy!

March 21, 1938

Oh the joy of having you for our Dad and our Poppy!  There’s nothing like writing this post for you—who speaketh in witty sayings and clever cliche’s—and having my little Sophie come limping in while holding her leg and saying, “I have a bone in my leg.”

Not much has changed as the years roll along

You still make us laugh when you sing folklore song

Same big smile and twinkle in your eye

Same crazy answers when we dare to ask, “why?”

Steadfast and faithful to your family and wife

With rock-solid faith, you are larger than life

No artist could paint, no writer could pen

The blessing from God that you have been!

We love you!

Sophie and I are ready to go fishing, Daddy.
