Easter is such a powerful time of year. There’s nothing like celebrating the Risen Savior with the Body of Christ on Resurrection Sunday.  This year I intended to truly focus on Christ and hoped to gain a deeper revelation of His love and sacrifice.  So I decided not to buy an Easter dress in spite of the fact that I really, really wanted one and just having any new dress would be such a wonderful addition to the few I have.  Of course, finances may have affected my choice just a little. And the fact that two of my favorite bloggers stated that they were not going to buy an Easter dress this year.  Anyway, I sacrificed.

However, Sophie did not sacrifice the Easter dress.  I really wanted something blue to bring out her eyes.  I’m afraid you won’t be able to appreciate that in most of her pictures because she tends to smile BIG and her eyes disappear.  I ordered this dress from Molly Cook. It’s not the exact print here on her blog, but it’s just as lovely.  And no, I did not pay $2.00 for it.  But it was a steal at $35.00 including matching bow.  Molly did an amazing job.  Isn’t she precious?

Look how cute Gavin looks with Auntie Sophie.

This is Gavin’s 1st Easter. We only wish Trey could’ve been here. But we have lots of pics to send.

Cammie and Gavin

After church, we met my parents and niece at Outback. I love spending time with the people I love on Easter.

Oh look! There they are. A little glimpse, anyway.

Cam and Sophie

We had a great time. Outback is one of our favorite restaurants.  Good food and good company.  But I have to be honest, there’s one individual I’d rather do without on Easter.

This guy:

Is it really a guy?  I’m pretty sure last year the Bunny’s hands were much smaller.  I’m sorry.  I tried not to go there.  But it’s just creepy.  One of my favorite bloggers brought it up (yes, one of the two who kicked the Easter dress this year) and I cannot keep quite either.  Exactly what about a ridiculously large bunny that nods and waves is okay?

Yes, I’m still participating for Sophie.  See:

This is loot from the “Bunny” as well as the extras from Nanny and Cammie, mind you.

I almost lost a toe in Walmart trying to sneak that chocolate bunny and the “Bunny’s” other loot past Sophie.  It’s true! A 32 oz bottle of hydrogen peroxide rolled out of my buggy and onto my big toe. I truly thought I would spend my last moments in the Easter candy aisle in the midst of an unorganized remodel at the Walmart. I saw stars.  I’m pretty sure I heard angels calling my name. It was all enough to make me want to put a hit out on the Bunny.

But I did it all for her. Here she is digging in her loot from the “Bunny”.  So what if the “Bunny” gets all the credit for my hard work, effort, love and terribly bruised toe.  I don’t mind compromising.

I did it for him. This is his loot from the “Bunny”.

This is Sophie’s basket from Cammie. The egg she’s opening is from Trey. It has an army man inside.

Happy with his loot. . .

And this is Gavin’s loot from Nanny.

Happy again. . .

These pictures of the “Bunny” were taken at Cammie’s friend’s cousin’s house. Gavin seems to like him. Or her? Him. Pretty sure.

I just wonder if Sophie noticed the “Bunny” looks a little different here.  At first I thought it odd that he was standing. But Lauren is ten and went for moral support. And I’m pretty sure she was just fine standing next to the “Bunny”.  It’s much less creepy to have him stand although this bunny is kinfolk to Cammie’s friend.  Perhaps I should’ve made her stand next to the “Bunny” at the mall.

In closing, I’d like to show you a picture of a real, live bunny. You know, in case it’s all blurry now that Easter is over. Take a good look. This is the way I believe children should picture bunnies in their minds. Well, other than cartoon bunnies of course. We don’t discriminate against those.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tale of a tail. I’m off to eat something the “Bunny” bought for Easter. I’m not bitter. Really.
