All to often we have heard reference to how much our mom and older sister Katie looks like Sally Field. In fact, they even share mannerisms.
Through those famous scenes where, M’Lynn charges into the hospital to see Shelby, reads to her trying to wake her up, stays by her side until her last breath, and finally asks “Why?” at the funeral—we see our mom’s strength and character. The funny thing is, Sally Field was just playing a role, while our mom is the real thing.
