Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. ~ Isaiah 26:3

Ah, the ocean! Magnificently glorious! I suppose if I were to choose a favorite ride in all the world, it would be the glorious ocean’s waves. The irony is that I’ve never surfed. I’ve never been on a jet ski; never been on water skis; I’m not even the greatest of swimmers. I just love the ocean. I love the thrill of watching the waves swell from the shallow end and dancing upon them as they carry me closer to shore.

I love the peaceful view of their stillness. It’s fascinating, the contrast between the calm serenity of those stilled waters versus their mighty surge violently crashing the shore. They that testify of those undulating waves know the effects of the storm. They know the summoning of fear through the thunder’s roar, the destructive dance of the gales.

The stillness is far more lovely after the storm.

Fear of the waves dissipates when you know you’re riding with the One who rides on the waters. He quiets the wind and beckons you to walk upon the water with Him. And despite the unpredictability of the storms, assurance of peace remains. Forever.

Yes, forever.

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. ~ Isaiah 32:17

He is the very eye of the storm.
