So tonight I was in Sophie’s room picking out her clothes for her three day Preschool week.  “I think you’ll wear the dress you wore to church on Sunday to school tomorrow,” I said as I rummaged through her armoire.

“The new one,” she asked.

“Yes.  It’s ironed and still clean.”  I pulled the dress from her armoire and continued sharing my thoughts with her.  “Wednesday we’re going to the mall after school so I’ll pick something that you could wear there.  Thursday is camouflage day . . .”

THAT DRESS,” she interrupted.

“Yes!  It’ll be fine,” I tried to reassure her.

That’s ‘barrassing,” she said with all the sass of a teenager.

And then I walked out of the room stunned.

I just hope she doesn’t find the Great Value (store) brand juice boxes that Courtney bought tonight for her snack at Preschool as ‘barrassing as wearing the same dress she wore to church on Sunday to Preschool on Tuesday.

The Preschool is at our church.  You don’t think I’m setting her up for ‘barrrassment, do you?
